Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced that it has received over 5,000 bookings for the new Fortuner and the Fortuner Legender SUV since their launch in India. As per a statement released by the company, TKM has started deliveries of the new Fortuner and Legender to dealer partners across the country. The Toyota Fortuner continues to dominate the SUV segment with over 53 per cent segment share. The company says that this share could grow given the immense customer response the Fortuner Legender has been getting.

The sheer number of enquiries and bookings for both the Fortuner and Legender reiterate our belief in the customer-first approach. New Delhi, Feb 4 (PTI) Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Thursday said it has received over 5,000 bookings for the new version of Fortuner, including the Legender trim.
The company said it has started deliveries of the premium SUV to dealer partners across the country.
The Indian arm of the Japanese car maker on January 6 launched the new version of its premium SUV Fortuner, besides introducing a high-end trim of the model, christened as Legender.
'The sheer number of enquiries and bookings for both the Fortuner and Legender reiterate our belief in the customer-first approach.
'Both the SUVs were created purely based on customer feedback, thus helping us garner a good response,' TKM Senior Vice-President Naveen Soni said in a statement.
The company is working hard to ensure the quickest possible delivery time so that the customers can experience the SUV at the earliest, he added.
TKM noted that the Fortuner range continues to dominate the SUV segment with over 53 per cent segment share that is likely to increase further with the launch of the Legender variant, which has been drawing immense customer response with its bold styling and advanced features.
'The overwhelming customer response is also a testament to the rapidly growing preference for SUVs in India, enabling the Fortuner to strengthen its leadership position in the highly competitive segment,' the automaker said.

Toyota has received over 5,000 bookings for the facelifted Fortuner SUV in India in just one month. To recall, it was launched in the country on January 6 this year.
The premium four-wheeler is offered in Standard and Legender variants. It has a refreshed look, a hi-tech cabin, and is offered with a choice of BS6-compliant petrol as well as diesel engines.
Exteriors: Recalling the Toyota Fortuner (facelift)
Toyota Fortuner's Standard model has a mesh grille, an updated front bumper, sleek LED headlights with DRLs, and slim LED taillights. On the sides, it has roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The Legender trim features a split grille, sequential LED turn indicators, projector headlights, and sportier Pearl White paintwork with a contrasting black roof.
Fact: Power and performance
The Fortuner (facelift) gets two BS6-compliant engines- a 2.7-liter petrol motor that makes 163hp/245Nm and a 2.8-liter diesel unit offered in two tunes- 201hp/420Nm and 201hp/500Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Interiors: Inside the cabin
The 2021 Fortuner offers a 7-seater cabin with ventilated leather seats, power windows, a multifunctional steering wheel, automatic climate control, and a keyless entry.
It also packs six speakers and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity.
For safety, the car has seven airbags, crash sensors, an engine immobilizer, a 360-degree-view camera, and ABS with EBD.
Fact: How much does it cost?
The Toyota Fortuner (facelift) costs Rs. 29.98 lakh for the Standard model and goes up to Rs. 37.58 lakh for the top-end Legender SUV (all prices, ex-showroom). In India, it rivals Ford Endeavour, MG Gloster, and Mahindra Alturas G4.
